What Is Semi-Private Training at Steamboat Fit?

Semi-Private Training bridges the gap between large group classes and 1:1 personal training. You’ll train in a small group of up to six people with one of our highly qualified trainers, allowing workouts to be adjusted in real time based on ability level, injuries, and movement skills—while still following a thoughtful, structured program.

  • Semi-Private Training for Active Older Adults – A focused option emphasizing strength, balance, mobility, and confidence, with thoughtful coaching to support longevity and everyday movement.

Semi-Private Training for Active Older Adults

Small-Group Strength + Conditioning

Take your training — and your confidence — to the next level.

Semi-Private Training is a small-group strength and conditioning session designed to give you more coaching, more confidence, and more results than a traditional group class. With no more than six participants, our expert trainers can individualize the workout in real time—adding progressions or regressions based on athletic ability, injury history, movement skill, and goals.

This format allows everyone in the group to train together while still receiving personalized guidance, smart modifications, and appropriate challenges.

Q: How many people are in a semi-private session?
A: Semi-private sessions are capped at six participants to ensure plenty of coaching and personal attention.

​

Q: How is this different from a group class?
A: Group classes are larger and follow a set workout for everyone. Semi-private sessions are smaller, more personalized, and focused on your specific needs and progression.

Q: Is semi-private training right for me if I have injuries or limitations?
A: Often, yes. The small group size allows trainers to give you modifications and adjust movements. If you have significant limitations, we may recommend starting with 1:1 personal training.

​

Q: What if the semi-private group isn’t full?
A: We run all semi-private sessions with a minimum of two participants. If only one person is signed up, the session will be canceled, and you’ll be notified with plenty of time to adjust. With two or more participants, the session runs as scheduled and you’ll still receive personalized coaching and attention.

Q: I’m an active older adult. Which option is best for me?
A: We offer a Semi-Private Training for Active Older Adults option designed specifically for those who want focused coaching in a supportive, age-aware environment. You’ll train alongside peers with similar goals, with an emphasis on strength, balance, mobility, and confidence—led by trainers experienced in working with active older adults. This is the recommended starting point for many clients in this category.

Q: What is the late cancellation policy for Semi-Private Training?

A: We ask for at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a Semi-Private Training session.

  • Cancellations must be made through the Steamboat Fit app or directly with the front desk team

  • Cancellations made within 12 hours of the session start time will be considered a late cancellation

Late Cancellation Policy:

  • Punch Card Packages: One session will be deducted from your package. This policy helps us respect our trainers’ time and ensures fair access to limited semi-private spots.
